1 year. many things.

The day has come. Happy 1 year blogiversary to me! It's so weird to think back a year ago from today when I started my little blog as "Girl About Towns" (may she rest in peace). Today, as "a blonde affair" I feel so lucky to have accomplished as many things as I have in one short year! Being the H&M Fashion Blogger, moving to Victoria, then back to Toronto, covering New York Fashion Week, covering Toronto Fashion Week and now writing for Corduroy Magazine.

I not only started my blog a year ago today (check out my very first post here), but I also moved to Victoria. Now here I am, back full circle and back in the city where it all began! I definitely miss Victoria and will especially miss it this summer, but I'm also excited to be here in Toronto with exciting new projects on the go. You'll have to wait a little longer to find out what's in store!

I thought for such a long time what I wanted to do for my special 1 year post. A montage to 525 600 minutes was definitely up there on the list. But now that I've probably got that song stuck in all of your heads anyway, I decided to post "a year in photos" of some of my favorite moments and memories over this past year. I hope you enjoy! (cue: 525 600 minutes...)

Sappy time: Now I want to thank all of YOU. I am so grateful for all of the love, support and encouragement I've gotten over this past year from everyone. So thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for continuing to read and enjoy my little piece of cyberspace!

Everyone say hello to my favorite pair of pants again, the pinkettes! ( I just came up with that name now, but it's kinda catchy, no?) I'm loving the colored bottom trend right now, and these H&M pants do just the trick when I want to brighten up my outfit.

This weekend my friend from Montreal came to visit for her birthday. She needed a new wardrobe and wanted to use me as her personal stylist, how could I say no? Shopping vicariously through other people is one of my favorite pastimes. So, if you're ever in Toronto, look me up and let's shop!! (using your money)

I purchased this bird patterned blouse from a super cheap and very sketchy boutique on Queen West. You can't try anything on, it's cash only and everything is $10.99.  Needless to say, it's quickly turning into one of my favorite shops.

Hope you all had bright weekends! If you didn't, you should really invest in a pair of pinkettes, XO!

Peplum in my step

Bonjour Blondies! Have you read my latest piece in Corduroy Mag on Toronto Fashion Week? Check out my #2 fave pick, and you'll realize how happy I am to own this lovely peplum H&M top!

I first saw this top in New York when I was there for Fashion Week, and decided to wait and get it back in Canada. When I got back to Toronto, I couldn't find it anywhere! (I think this calls for a #firstworldproblems) lo and behold, good things come to those who friend was visiting last weekend and told me about a lovely peplum top she bought from H&M. I bolted to H&M the next day, and voila!

I know peplum isn't for everyone, but I'm obsessed. What do you think about the peplum look?
