Snow Owl

My trip home for the Holidays was short and sweet this year, as I'm heading to Hawaii for the rest of my Holidays! Being Canadian, snow and Christmas have always gone together, so I'm glad I was able to enjoy it in Fredericton during my stay. Naturally- I had to include some of the cold, white stuff in my hometown post!

One thing I love about going home is getting to sort through all of my old, forgotten clothes that haven't been able to make it with me on my previous moves. This outfit consists of many of those forgotten pieces. I'm so happy to have them back in my loving arms and into my luggage!

It was a beautiful, mild winter day when I wore this outfit so this grey pea coat worked out perfectly. Paired with my favorite grey toque and furry mittens, I felt at home in this snowy winter setting (coincidentally, I was home)

Cord-ially Invited

Today, you are cordially invited to meet my new (thrifted) corduroy skirt! I picked up this gem at my favorite  neighborhood consignment boutique, Common Sort. It's Actually an American Apparel skirt, but thrifting made it a lot cheaper!

I paired it here with purple tights and over the knee socks for a weather suitable look, but I know it will be just as cute in the spring/summer with some wedges and a cute tank. I love finding pieces that work year round!

I'm currently home for the Holidays, and soaking up every second of snow until I head for warmer weather in Hawaii! Can't wait to do outfit posts from the land where palm trees sway.

What are those tights, Margiela?

Why yes, yes they are. Say hello to the one item I could get my hands on at the Margiela for H&M pre-shop- these fishnet-esque leggings!

The pattern/color of these leggings definitely make it a little more challenging to pair them with a shirt, but I think I found a good combo with my bird shirt and neutral crop top. What do you think?

The Margiela pre-shop was absolute madness! We were there an hour before the doors even opened, and a huge line was already formed. By the time we were up the escalator to see the collection, the shelves were already completely bare! I was lucky to snag these leggings, and I think they make a great addition to my wardrobe.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! I'm going to the Toronto Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, I can't wait!

What's that Jacket, Margiela?

Just to clarify, my jacket is NOT Margiela. It is, however, thrifted from Value Village (the next best thing?). Tonight though, my tune may change as I'm going to the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M pre-shop! I have my eye on a few amazing pieces and can't wait to see them in the flesh!

This jacket is definitely one of my new fave vintage pieces in my closet. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it! It has a very Chloe Comme Parris feel to it, which I love.

Although I usually love a pop of color, sometimes dressing in all black just feels right. Today was definitely one of those days!

Who else is excited to shop Maison Martin Margiela for H&M? The line officially hits stores November 15th! I hope to go home with some goodies tonight.

Toque Cute

Hello Blondies! Don't worry, I haven't left you. I'm here, I bought a tripod, and I mean business! This post is brought to you by the changing seasons, my new toque and one of the comfiest sweaters I own.

I've officially moved into a new house and have been getting to know my new Toronto neighborhood- which included finding one of my new favorite vintage/consignment boutiques, Common Sort! I'm not kidding when I say that every time I go there, I find a new gem that I just can't say no to! Last time the gem was this United Colors of Benetton sweater- look how pretty!

I also recently purchased this toque from American Apparel, and have pretty much been living in it since. How Canadian of me.

Hope you are all keeping warm in sweaters and toques of your own!

#BLOGGERSBRUNCH

A few weeks ago, my good friend Bailey and I hosted a Bloggers Brunch at MAVRIK Winebar on Queen West. The brunch was a way for local bloggers (and non-bloggers) to connect and meet on a face-to-face basis- all while sipping on some delicious beverages during brunch!

All in all the event was a success! Our special guest speaker, Patrick Tackney, Social Media Manager of H&M Canada, had some great advice to give on social media and on using it to create and maintain your brand.

Thanks to everyone who came out, and a special thanks to MAVRIK Winebar for letting us host at your lovely venue, Tim Chan for helping us make this event possible and Patrick Tackney for being such an inspiring guest speaker!

Until next time, CHEERS!

Brunch time!

Skin Care Affair

Back in June I was sent some products from Seanol Canada, a newly launched natural Korean algae-based beauty line. Although fashion is my #1 passion, skin care and beauty products also play a big role in my life (as I'm sure is the case with every girl out there!) I am very fortunate to have a fairly normal skin type. I never get break-outs and never had that awkward pimple-phase as a teen. However, this summer in Toronto was hot, hot HOT and my skin was definitely feeling the effects.

After using The Deep Clean foaming face wash and The Petipore pores cream religiously this summer, my skin began to feel like it's normal self again! The foam cleanser was so refreshing and made my skin feel squeaky clean, while the pores cream kept my skin hydrated and extra smooth.

For anyone looking to try out a new skin care regime, I would definitely recommend these Seanol Canada products! Be sure to check out their website and take a look at all of the other amazing products they offer.
